Location Research

Finding a location  for our film is crucial as we need to get the right location that will emphasis  he message and stereotypical views that we want to portray in out film.

The synopsis of our film is that there is a western Muslim man and European  women traveling to London although there is an event which surprises and breaks all generic conventions.

For our film evolving terrorist  we want a location that uses generic conventions and therefore we need a busy location and a well know area. From this we have decided to film in London and this destination is often used with low budget British films. we then had to decide where about in London, although we wanted (with gained permission) to film in a train/underground station to continue to follow generic conventions and the stereotypical places that surround a "terrorist". We decided that Waterloo station as this is in constant use and recives a large number of commuters. Waterloo is resonably large so we could shoot in a number of locations within the station.

There are a number of Briitsh films shot in London which range back from Charles dickons to Bridget jones diary. Because of the dominant role played by the city in the British media and proven by the vast amount of tourist and media attention gained, the number of british film shot in London is huge.  Filming here follows conventions of a British film of the london city itself to emphasis the background and heritage of the film.

As well as london itself there are many  known films shot in Londons underground.
sliding doors 1998
bulldog jack 1934
A more resent film is "creep" 2004 a film itself using the underground not for conventions of a terroist but proved how intense a destination like this can have on an audience.

The Bourne ultimatum is an American spy film which used Waterloo station for a scene within the film. Because of "Bourne ultimatum" has a good reputation of being a fantastic fast pace chase action film, through many different situations, we though that this being a similar description of our film that Waterloo would be the best location to use.
