Preliminary Task Recording

  Friday 4th February 2011

Our group, which consists of Mohedene, James, Katie and Lydia started recording for our preliminary task on Friday afternoon, at around 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. We took all of the necessary shots, at all of the relevant angles, and ensured that all of our shots, and dialogue met the general success criteria of the premilinary task, which is named "Feed The Fish".

Myself (Mohedene), Katie and James were the protagonist actors in the preliminary task, i was the individual who asked the questions and who was acting dominant in the task, and Katie was the individual that replied to my questions and "Fed the fish", James was acting as a dead body and was put behind me in a crawled up position to really set a tense, serious and dangerous atmosphere for the potential viewers.

Lydia also played a major role in the whole preliminary task, as she professionally recorded the task, and came up with a wide range of constructive and positive ideas, which helped the task meet the general success criteria also, which was to experiment with a wide range of shots, and use the correct dialogue.

Furthermore, we picked up a tactic from our teacher Mr. Roberts, and that tactic was to film early before the scene begins and stop the camera recording a while after the scene ends in order to get the whole scene in camera without any action or dialogue being missed, and when we edit we can allow the clip to start in perfect consistency with the next clip, which will allow our preliminary task clips to flow professionally.

After recording, we handed the camera over to Lydia to charge it, and to look after it, and see if any extra pre-class editing can be done to it.
